Military Mental Health Waiver Assessment
A military mental health waiver evaluation is required when a prospective recruit has disclosed prior psychological treatment or when potential mental health concerns are identified during the enlistment process. Because certain conditions can disqualify candidates without formal approval, recruits need an independent professional evaluation to support their waiver application.
The assessment includes standardized psychological testing, a comprehensive background questionnaire, and a focused clinical interview examining whether any psychological factors might affect the candidate's ability to safely perform military duties. Afterward, a detailed letter outlining findings and professional opinions is prepared for submission with the waiver request.
Why it matters who evaluates you: Dr. Jureller is a former active-duty Army psychologist who trained at Brooke Army Medical Center and served as a Brigade Psychologist conducting military fitness and suitability evaluations, and currently advises U.S. Army Recruiting Command about how to select its applicants. He understands exactly what military decision-makers are looking for because he's been on that side of the process.
